SO YOU THINK YOU DON'T NEED COLOR MANAGEMENT!

Hey All. I am (maybe not so proud) to admit that during the recent Printing Workshop held by Bob Korn here at CDIA, that I was distracted by Kevin Good and made the error of not de-selecting Color Management in the Epson print window while printing (see above). That's right, I truly feel that Kevin should be held entirely accountable for this oversight, after all he is Kevin (ACE) Good. All kidding aside I made an error in not setting up my printing workflow and suffered the results (again see above). So next time you are printing and the images are looking like crap stop looking at the guy next to you or for a rep from Adobe and check your settings.

The printing workshop was seriously awesome! Just simply amazing. It brought me right back to where I started my whole art career with etching. The process of printing, adjusting, printing, fine tuning, and printing the final edition is one that I will never forget, and am glad to have such a background to help inform the whole idea.

Bob is truly a force to be reckoned with.

On a side note, I did a little research into daylight balanced fluorescent bulbs. If you can't seem to put your hands on some GE Chroma 50s, Philips has an equivalent with their Natural Sunshine bulbs. I found some at Home Depot as a matter of fact...go figure! The tube and fixture were about $20.

Of course I don't have a whole lot of space in my office, so I went for an 18" bulb that would provide me with a side workspace when the sun isn't out. I'm fortunate enough to have a skylight right over my loft so that'll come in handy.
